And no I don't mean the vacuum cleaner either. I've looked and found stand-alone CD recorders aren't that expensive at all! I found one by TDK( I think) that is only $300! All I'd need is a turntable to hook up to it. It has a hard drive with 20 GB which I can just play and play and play(and then give my friend her turntable back hehehe) and then burn later. Hmmmm *wheels turning in brain.. MUSH hamster, MUSH!*
I'd prolly have to drag the damn thing over there cause I know her mom is NOT going to let me take it out of the house. Not to mention I've got NO where to put it anyway, so it just might be better to take it over there and use it and then shlep it back home. ohhhhhhhh the excitement is unbearable!! But, I can't afford to do that AND get my USB transfer hub :cry: I need to hit the LOTTO :lol:

I found it!! I found the second part of the cord needed to run my videocam from the wall. I wanted to be able to do that to keep from having to use an actual cassette tape to record video. Turns out, I also DO have a tape I can use. So I'll reserve it for outside taping.
All I need now is something to allow me to transfer the video to my computer so I can edit it and make VideoCD's. Why VCD's instead of DVD? well, I really dont' want to fucker with my computer and put a DVD drive in. And I admit, I'm just too cheap to buy an external one. Which I'd have to put slot-card into the computer anyway for that, and if I'm going to go diggin in there for a card I might as well put the drive INSIDE right?
I've already seen two such USB hubs that allow me to transfer video. My question now is. are they any good, or would it be better to use a slot-card? a slot card would cause an IRQ problem, I just know it. Whereas, USB I can remove it when I'm not using it. Yes, i'm sure USB is a lot slower than a card. Unless, of course, with today's advanced technologies it's no longer as slow.
The only other thing I wish I could do is record all my vinyl albums to my computer. now THAT would be cool. What I could really use for that would be a stand-alone CD burner that I could hook up to a turntable and BAM!! hmmm I wonder how much THAT would cost *rubbing hands together evilly* :twisted:

He decided to scratch himself in the ear with a pencil!!! :evil: So I had to take him to the ER. Thankfully that's all it was.. It must have happened yesterday. He gets up this morning and sits at the table and there's dried blood in his ear canal! after I clean it out I see a black blob. The doctor finally tells me it's a glob of dried blood(like a scab) and that it'll fall out as the scrape heals. anddddddd a crapload of papers just fell off the top of my monitor :shock:

As I try to get through this horrid waiting time I am knitting socks.. It's very relaxing for me. I used some of the left over Fortissima yarn to make a pair of tube socks for Ronnie.

I finally got the cast-on going for two socks on one circ. Seeing as I can't FIND my other circ(thangQ JV) I am only going to do tube socks. Ronnie could use some and well, I've got to do something with these scraps. I just can't see making fitted socks for her when she grows so fast.
it's FRIDAY!! and the weather is going to suck ass.. great. no BBQ's this weekend. I have some friends and such who work for the gov't. so they'll be home Monday but seeing as they'll have to work the next day they're not much for having anything related to FUN.. so to hell with them :lol:
I'd been meaning to get to Smileys. I should have gone on Monday but something came up, and frankly I wasn't feeling to hot anyway. The muscle soreness is gone and my lip is feeling almost normal. Ronnie likes to GRAB my lip(thanx Ronnie) and stick her finger RIGHT where it was bruised but I'll manage..

It's been a week already and they still don't have the results for my breast biopsy.. WTF??? This is the substandard health care that poor minorities get that causes them to DIE needlessly!!
Last time I heard biopsies warranted IMMEDIATE results.. immediate meaning within a week. The idjit doctor didn't want to comment on what he saw.. so I have NO clue as to what's going on.. I could have stayed home instead of wasting carfare to go and they didn't have the results.. I could have seen for myself my incision is healing well.. FUCKERS :evil:

Tomorrow I see the doctor. Hopefully the biopsy results will be in, though I wouldn't be surprised if it's not and this is just a routine to see how i'm healing..
Here's something to think about..
Research into the subject of breast cancer has taught me that there are cancers which grow when exposed to estrogen. I also learned that the female body can experience an extended exposure to estrogen as a result of a lenghthened menstrual cycle. I have been having periods 6 weeks apart, instead of the normal 4.5 since November and I'm seriously wondering if the mass that grew in my breast is a result of overexposure to estrogen, caused by my longer cycles.
Now where did the longer cycles come from, you ask. Well I got my tubes ties in June and I seriously think that had something to do with it. It is known that some(if not MOST) women experience some type of change in their cycle after getting fixed. Sometimes, they bleed to much, too long, too short, they never STOP bleeding, they dont' bleed at ALL or their cycles are shortened, or in my case, they're longer..
I've already stated I don't feel confident this is a benign tumor. If for no other rreason than, ' Why do benign things grow anyway??' I'm not one to have lots of moles and skin tags.. If a tumor has to start from almost nothing, and grow, it's cancer. I know I don't know what I'm talkin about.. but it just seems ILLOGICAL that something HARMLESS needs to GROW.
I look at my mother and keep trying to tell myself she died because she waited until she needed her whole breast removed to do anything about the lump she felt. Most of the medical staff I've dealt with are all saying it 'LOOKS' benign, but I know that looks can be deceiving. I still think there are women out there who had small lumps which were cancerous, with no node involvement who STILL died of their cancers.. Sure you'll say, well maybe the node involvement was falsely negative when in fact it had spread so that's why it recurred, blah blah.. I know that's a possibility. As it stands it's entirely possible that they'll tell me it's benign when in fact it's not!!
I guess I should just wait and see right? Easier said than done. I've managed to skirt so many of life's pitfalls and I just think it's time to suffer. Like I don't have enough shit to deal with.. I live in a US terrorism target and my husband has to travel daily to the city. I don't relish him not coming home one day over that bullshit.

Ok. I'm a bad mommy. The 7 year old goes on a trip to see "Cinderella'' today. I just realized WHY they are going to see it. "To compare the movie version with the book version" Ok WTF? YOu can't rent a fookin copy and show it in the auditorium, or the class? YOu have to rob me of $6.00 to take these kids on a cheese bus to show them the movie isn't the same as the book?? *laughs hysterically*
So why am I a bad mommy? Because I think it's a waste of time and money. And it's raining too. bah, humbug.. I'm just in a pissy mood.
I got back home to find hubby didn't get up and Give Ronnie her ear infection meds... Lazy cuss. My son met me at the door, screaming at my grocery bag,' BACON!!', like that dog snack commercial.. (do they still play that commercial?)
Oh and while I'm complaining.. Why do my shoelaces always come undone when I'm about to try and walk around a puddle???? UGH. I'm ready to STAPLE the fuckers in.
Oh and speaking of Staples.. I must get there and get..( you guessed it.. some staples HAHA I have issues, really.
Guess what hubby got me yesterday.. A new Dean Koontz book. I TOLD him not to buy one. I refuse to read any more of his books. I can't believe he killed off the girl friend in "Odd Thomas". Great book, believe me but I was cheated!!! He had me goin, twice I was thinking someone was alive when they were in fact, dead.. And then he got me again in the end!! Pissed me off.
Ok, enough fussing.. until dinnertime :lol:

Sorry I haven't really been reading blogs lately. In fact I haven't really been adding to my own either. Not a whole lot to say and just not feeling up to it. I've been inside myself lately. Just going through the motions and getting through the days.. and feeling sore all over doesn't help either. Is my neck supposed to be sore like this? I can imagine they had it hyperextended to get the tube down my throat, and that might also explain my FUCKIN LIP! but now my chest and back are feeling sore too. doesn't hurt to breathe but sometimes when I move it's like I pulled muscles.. I just want to feel normal again...

So, I survived the biopsy.. not without some minor injuries.. my throat is sore and my lip is fuckered.. it better go down or i'm gonna be beatin some doctor ass..
My boob is sore, but it's not something a little tylenol won't help.. I go back to doc in about a week and I guess then I'll get the results.. ugh...

So now they want to blame egotistical FDNYers vs egotistical NYPDers and their inability to communicate properly as the reason for why 9/11 went so bad?? Gee, and all this time I thought it was because some ARSEHOLES flew planes into American edifices killing a shatload of people??? Excuse me for being WRONG!
On to lighter things... Would you believe it I tried to start that Granny square blanket again.. and SOMEBODY fuckered with my J hook and now I don't have a hook for it?? I COULD use the H hook but it's smaller and will take me LONGER to finish. (slaps self for promising a blanket).

Tonight was my first Stitch N Bitch session. A bunch of knitters get together and knit, while talkin whatever. I ran into two ladies at our meeting place, but one left and then another came in. I wish I'd gotten there a little earlier.. 2 hours isn't long enough!!
It was fun.. I'll have to try and fit this trip into my weekly schedule. HA, who am I kidding.. I don't DO anything. But I still need time away from home.. So.. I'll be meeting these ladies whenever I can!! Knitters UNITE!!

I need to stop making them. I almost never keep them. I promised myself I wouldn't get more sock yarn, but today, I did. I only went to LOOK, and to get more needles. They didn't HAVE needles. So I got yarn.. smart huh? I am always promising myself I'm going to.. Start dressing better, start eating better, start exercising(period). But something always gets in the way, stopping me. Something. I keep saying I'm going to read to the kids more.. But I find myself rather wanting to just relax.. I've been meaning to make some cookies from scratch.. No go. I did finally get around to getting some cookie sheets today.. That's a start.. Some new measuring cups would help too.
I just get so frustrated at life and then I try to make it better but something blocks me. I don't know what it is. I've been meaning to go back to school. That didn't happen. I keep saying I'm going to organize all my junk. Then I go look at it, and just say Fuck it! It's too overwhelming. Being a pack rat doesn't help much, either.
Did I mention I've been wanting to buy a blender? I just got around to getting a waffler maker!! It's cool, and very little cleanup, my favorite thing about it. I must recharge my digicam batteries.. if Not, then I'll be stuck with no batteries when I want to take a quick pic. I've been meaning to take the cam with me when I go places. It always slips my mind til I get there. I need to organize my fridge better. Why? the kids will just fucker it up in a NY minute, anyway!
I have to run through my closet and get rid of all the shit I can't wear. I keep saying Why, I'm going to lose weight and I'll wish I didn't throw them out. Ha. Fat chance..
I even promised myself I'd stop procrastinating.. We can see where that got me..

You know, I really need to stop procrastinating.. like.. RIGHT NOW!! I've got two blankets I need to crochet for someone and I haven't finished them. Hell I haven't even STARTED one of them yet. Shameless, I tell you.
I learned to knit back in Jan/February and I haven't done much crocheting since.. Well, Ok, NONE. Now, I just use the crochet hooks when I need to pick up dropped stitches. It feels foreign to me. but I must continue.. I made promises. Here goes...

This is my latest FO(finished Object, and yes, an Unfinished Object would of course be, a UFO!)
I've completed the Koigu socks with 48 stitches. I've realized that perhaps this number is better for a snugger fit. I'd previously been using 56 stitches and I can see that that's too high for me. Maybe for hubby's feet, but hell, he can buy his own :lol:
So today, I will finish the other pair... enjoy!

Ok so it's not what you think, I've completed one sock of a pair but instead of going on to the second one.. I've started one of another pair! I just couldn't resist this Koigu.. It's really pretty, but it's not what I'd expected. Turns out, it's 100% wool, and not a wool/nylon blend like i'm used to. So.. Next time I'm going to need something to reinforce my heel and toe if this doesn't work as planned.
Some have stated they didn't add nylon and the socks are still going strong. Someone else mentioned using size 20 thread along with the wool. I'll have to try that one day..

I'd like to thangQ all who responded to my post about my 'lovely' George Fore(head)man grill. I haven't used it since that dry pork chop incident BUT I've been trying to find info on how to marinate food. It turns out you need an oil, and an acid as part of your marinade ingredients.
acid is used to break down the tissues just enough to get the flavor to go THROUGH the meat. Acids like, vinegar, apple juice, citrus(orange,lemon, lime--real juice not from concentrate so yes that means SQUEEZING things) are good for marinating and they taste good too!
Oil, like veggie oil or sesame or olive can be used to help coat the meat with the flavors of larger spices, like dried cayenne pepper seeds, and root spices like oregano, basil, and rosemary.
then there's worcestershire sauce, which, if you ask me, is OVERRATED. Ok, so I'm pissed because just soaking your meat in that doesn't do the trick lol. But it's an old flavor. I've got to find meat seasonings that, when properly marinated into the meat make it really good. Any Ideas? I want whatever steak marinade the restaurants use :cry: But of course they won't divulge their secrets... So, if you know of any.. POST!!

MOTHERFUCKERS.. I swear that hospital needs to be torn DOWN. Let me ask you something right quick.. If you're a physician assistant, and I walk up to you and say, " I'm supposed to have surgery with general anes. today but I don't think i should because I have chest congestion and wheezing"... wouldn't that raise a red flag with you?? Wouldn't you thin to have me assessed by anesthesiology FIRST to keep me from sitting there ALL day wasting everyone(including MY)'s time??? Nooooooooooo that's not what these fucknobs did today.
I arrived at 7:30. I was supposed to be there at 8. Fine. So I tell the PA that i'm coming down with a cold and that gen. anes. is prolly not going to happen for me. "Well just sit down and wait and we'll examine you and then you can see the anes. " WHAT??? So fine.. I go through the paces.
My procedure is a Biopsy with needle localization. What this means is.. they insert a needle, and then a wire INTO the needle all into my breast.. then taking xrays to image the location of the wire compared to the lump. This is done to facilitate finding it when it can't be FELT. fine.
so I'mthere with my Tit in the mammo machine, I'm not level with the floor mind you, I'm practically HANGING by my breast here! And THEN they come in and stab me in my motherfuckin breast with a 10 guage needle. Oh it gets better. I get more xrays like this. Mind you, my breast is NOT just mashed, it's TWISTED so tha the bottom is on the SIDE so they can see it!! Then I tell THEM LOOK. I have a cold, I'm wheezing I can't be put to sleep can i? "Well we'll have the anes come and see you now. " Great. AFTER I get STABBED in my titt??? Anes, comes down, my surgeon comes too.. They're both like.. Well, you can't have general and it can't be done with local. so you'll have to come BACK... to be continued...

I went to see the GYN today. after a relatively thorough exam, he determined that I'm ok.. I've been instructed to change soaps.. Ok..
So I go back in next month for a follow up and u/s of the area. I do feel somewhat better tho. so I'm not as worried. I will get a second opinion if I don't feel better in a week.
OOh.. I finally got a spring jacket. I know, I should have bought it in the winter time right? Who's thinking about spring jackets then tho? Now, when you go almost EVERYWHERE you don't find anything but SUMMER clothes... But I got lucky today!
And,, Hooker shoes. Every woman needs a pair of red shoes. I got some banging red mary jane pumps. Boy I sure hope I don't bust my ass walkin heehee
oh, I almost forgot! There's a really sweet man working at the Rainbow Shop on Jamaica near Woodhaven. He helped me put on my new jacket that i got today! ThangQ sweetie! There ARE still some chivalrous men out there!!

Keep in mind, I am NOT Asian(I guess you KNEW that huh?) so, if it doesn't taste like what you get from --- Gardens or wherever you get your chinese take out.. DON'T SUE ME.
Ok here goes..
1 bag shanghai/lo mein noodles
1 can baby corns
1 can sliced mushrooms
10-15 snow pea pods
half a can bean sprouts
1/2 cup chopped scallion(if you like)
any chopped/stripped meat(if you like)the thinner the better.
soy sauce
hoisin sauce
in a big skillet, brown meat,chicken,fish,whichev er, if you're using it, until it's about done, then add veggies OR
if not, then just sautee the veggies in a little sesame/vegetable oil
until thoroughly hot/cooked.
While this is cooking boil the water and dump the noodles in for 5 minutes or until the package says done(you might wanna use just half the bag if you're only cooking for one. It's enough to feed 4 people with just half a bag, and i'm not sure what size bag you'll find.)
in a small bowl take about 4 table spoons hoisin and stir in some soy sauce, not too much just to smooth out the sauce, it's THICK!, drain the noodles, and mix the sauce mixture in well, then add the noodles to the meat/veggie sautee and swirl around a few more times to coat everything..
Serve! and mmmmm If anything seems missing or out of whack just let me know. I just made this up one night when I decided I was going to STOP making the chinese restaurant RICH hahahah.

Ok. Last week I won the Dumbass of the Year award, although some would argue whether I actually deserved it :wink: But hubby here has just been nominated for Fuckin Genius of the Year. I nominated him mySELF! So he goes to work Friday night right? Sure, then he gets off in the morning, goes to a high school reunion and is there ALLLLLLLLL day, then tries to crash at his mom's house for a few zzzz's before going back to work(Turns out she was asleep and didn't hear the phone or the door--genius, didn't I tell you to get a spare key for JUST such purposes?? Cheap fuck doesn't want to pay for a new key since their building was remodeled and all the locks were done over!) So his ass is running around wondering WHERE his mother is and her ass is sleeping. No sleep. Goes to work a little early. Works alll night.
I called him around 4 am and he sounded like he'd been drugged :shock: Serves his ass right! comes home, crawls in the bed and is STILL asleep and it's about 3 am!! I think he got up ONCE to pee during the day. Little does his ass know, he's getting up with the kid to take her to school :twisted:

So yesterday I developed this heavyness in my lower abdomen. At least, I THINK it started yesterday. Considering what i'm going through right now you know I had to look up other types of cancer and found that heaviness and swelling/bloating in that area can mean ovarian cancer. Talk about Freaking.
I go for GYN on Tuesday and I am going to push for them to do whatever it takes to rule out ovarian cancer. I do NOT want to die of that. or any cancer for that matter. No matter where I read it's all bad news. and a bunch of stories from women who say they didn't know til it was too late. I've been wanting a hysto since my second child! but no one would do it.
Now I've got 3 kids and my cycles have been 6 weeks apart. Somefuckinbody is going to remove my parts before I sue the pants off them and the people they WORK for!! This shit has got to stop. If a woman with kids AND her tubes tied wants a hysto, GIVE IT TO HER!! we don't need these organs anymore!!
So meanwhile I wait for my biopsy and wonder if i"ll be postponing THAT for my ovaries.. ugh :cry:
