Farewell
04.25.05 (4:36 am)   [edit]
Well ladies and gentlemen, it's time to go. I've found a new home at BeanKnit-Daily Insanity.

It's been fun here at tblog(oh who am I KIDDING!), but my paid year is up(or is it, cause HELL, it's not like there's a WAY I can TELL, is there) and this management is non-responsive to problems posted in the forums, so I'm outta here. Please adjust your weblinks to my page accordingly. I'll soon be making a button for the new site..

See ya there!!

Ooops.. hit enter too soon.

Anyway! Check out the stitch pattern on Belle.

She's about 1/3 of the way done now. I don't get to her much on the commute and one reason is that she sheds a little so when I start knitting people are all looking as if they're going to start sneezing if a little hair touches them. So.. I keep her mostly home. And with good cause...

This is where I am now on a testdrive of the Mohair Diamonds scarf from this book:

This is the book I got from the library a few weeks ago. Nothing but scarves, which of course isn't exactly going to do me any good any time soon. But I can adapt this pattern by making bigger squares and making an afghan instead. A great way to use up the acrylic madness I have amassed over the last two years.

This pattern test got me back to using acrylic. While I never said I don't like it, I DO have a preference for natural fibers. I guess I'm spoiled that way.

What I'd also like to know is.. what's the difference between the modular technique used in this scarf and Entrelac? Hmmmm The first person to answer this correctly wins a brand new car!(just kidding )

F$ck you too!

To the ass-maggot rent-a-cop who thought he was gonna try and get me fired... Nice try. Next time you might want to try CATCHING me in a bad mood instead of trying to PUT me in one. You're nothing but a boil on the ass of society. You'll get yours.

More? Wow! :)

Belle Epoque is turning into a lulling, soother of a pattern. I know it backwards and frontwards. That is, until I get to the armpits. I try to knit on it every chance I get. Which, sadly isn't often. I'm beginning to think Belle won't be ready til Spring 2006. I could stand to lose another 50 lbs so that's ok.

It's time to up the ante and add some quick-knits to the WIP list. Which by the way I'm going to be adding to the site soon. Somehow.

Guess what!? My Secret pal apparently has an extra box for me! Wow. THANGQ :D I don't know what to say!! But I will take a guess on who she is! Seven? It's you isn't it? :D WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE EEEEEEE

I can tell it's you because of your way of 'speaking'. I've never heard your voice, but I can 'hear' it in my head whenever I read what you've written. You maybe don't know this, but you've sort of taken on a motherly-mentor-knitter role for me and that's how I know it's you. Your (online) personality is reflected in your choice of gifts.. I appreciate everything you've sent me, they all have a use and purpose in my life, knitting and otherwise.

Funny but cool

Yo! Have you seen the latest issue of knitty? If not go check it out! I've already 'added' a few of the items to my to-knit-list. I'm a little disappointed in the sizing of some of the tops/sweaters, but that's ok. There's nothing we can do to make designers think about us bigger people. F 'em. One day I'll design my own stuff. So Nyah :P.

Yo! WTF is up with these stores that won't let you charge anything less than 10 or 15 dollars??? They need to reread their merchant agreements with Visa and Mastercard, because they're NOT allowed to impose a minimum purchase requirement on users of those cards!! F them too, I'll take my business elsewhere.

I'm still reeling over how dismally small(read: lousy) the knitting book collection at my central library was. I found two fairly decent books at my local branch, though. "Knit Scarves! by Carol Jensen, and HotKnits by Melissa Leapman caught my eye, so I picked them up.

No, Sherry, I haven't gotten any messages from you. All I see is that you're no longer updating your site.

and No Michelle, I don't want boobs and hips. They get on my nerves. I don't have an hourglass shape. I'm shaped like a fat letter I.

Oh wow, where've I been?

Reading, that's where. I steamrolled through books 6 and 7 of the Stephanie Plum series within a week and I'm about half way through 8. Belle Epoque is suffering for that. So I've made a decision that I can NOT gratify myself with the pleasures of Janet Evanovich books(or anybody else's) until I'm ready to do the sleeves on Belle. That's it.

It's pathetic, I'm trying to come up with some mottos based on things I've read in the books. Like:

"Zap 'em, Lula!"
"What a pip!"(I haven't heard that word used since Gladys Knight"

It's to the point I'm already formulating actor suggestions for the regular characters. And what's worse, it seems others have come up with the SAME ideas, as I've seen on the author's website!!

In other knitting news:

I've been seeing a LOT of people finishing off Mariah. I'm SO tempted to put that on my To-knit-list, but then I got a look at the cabling chart and almost fainted. I KNOW, it's not that hard, blah blah, but the sizing is a bit close and I don't want to wring my sanity(or what's left of it) dry trying to work the pattern for it to not fit. Yes, I'm on a downward-weight trend, but that's proving to only be the case for my waistline. My hips and boobs aren't budging(DAMMIT ). So I'm still wondering what to do with those twenty hanks of Lana D'oro tweed I snagged from WEBS last week.

It doesn't help that I just got a WEBS email detailing their Anniversary Sale. Geesh it seems like it's their anniversary every 3 months or something. I can't keep buying yarn like that. It's so tempting and it's driving me CRAZY!!

Why me?

Ah Dear Secret. I have sad news. If you sent me an envelope the other day, it is lost. Hubby says he got it from the mail on Friday and promptly lost it. He insists it was not an April Fool's joke. With him, I'm never sure  But seriously :(. I didn't even get to see what was IN the thing .

Don't worry about Knitpicks yarn, the damage has already been done  Including a last-minute item for MY secret recipient. I've got to go out with a bang!

I'm bummed. Why are men so damned CLUMSY!? grrr....

Well, That was fun!

I met Karen again today! We met at the library and sat, chatted and knitted for a while. Sadly, the library had CRAP for knitting books. Really disappointing indeed.

I worked on my green sock a bit but then I wasn't really feeling it anymore. I'm just gonna do the toe and sign off on her. I pulled out Belle Epoque and we chatted as I worked on her. Karen was working on a second Clapotis, this time in Helen's Lace. She has it doubled and I didn't even realize how thin the yarn is until she told me it was doubled. That's some tiny yarn!!

She gave me the Summer 2004 issue of Interweave Knits!! :D WEEEEEEEEEEEEE but I forgot to bring the one she lent me a few months back so I could give it to her. Oops. That just gives me another reason to meet up with her again, teehee. She put me on to Knitpicks too. ENABLER  But I really do want to check them out for dyeable yarns.

I had alot of fun today! I can't wait til it really warms up more! :D
